Highlights of BC's EV Charger Rebate Program
Funded by B.C.'s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, and sometimes by the Government of Canada.
Administered by BC Hydro as part of the CleanBC Go Electric plan.
Program reopens on October 31, 2023, with $6.59M in funding for fiscal year 23/24.
Funding is first-come, first-served and limited.
Single Family Homes Rebate: Up to 50% of purchase and installation costs for eligible Level 2 chargers, up to $350.
BC Hydro Top-Up: Additional $250 for installing an eligible smart EV charger.
Apartment, Condo, and Townhome ComplexesEV Ready Rebates:
Plan Rebate: 75% of costs, up to $3,000 for creating an EV Ready plan.
Infrastructure Rebate: 50% of costs, up to $600 per parking space, and a project maximum of $120,000 for infrastructure installation.
Charger Rebate: 50% of costs, up to $1,400 per Level 2 charger, with a maximum of $14,000.
Standalone EV Charger Rebate:
50% of costs, up to $2,000 per Level 2 charger, with a maximum of $14,000.
Workplaces Rebate: Up to 50% of costs, up to $2,000 per Level 2 charger, with a maximum of $14,000.
Eligible for multiple locations, with up to four separate applications.
These EV charger rebates make EV charger installations more affordable, encouraging more residents and businesses in British Columbia to switch to electric vehicles.
